OUR MANDATE

Help business owners get the most out of time and money invested in their team by providing tools and insights that expose waste, increase efficiency, and limit financial exposure.

Four years ago, we created eclipse to lower the cost of employing people at small businesses so we could help owners and the 8 million Canadians they employ.

Our first goal was to design health benefit plans that worked for small groups—ones that employees could use freely without creating crazy rate increases for their employers.

Nailing that was easy, but we knew there were other ways to curb the cost of employees.

When we first included basic HR services as a complimentary add-on to our benefit plans, we had no idea how core to our business they would become. We quickly learned how widespread employee-management issues were among our clients—how inefficient their processes were, how much productivity was lost to leakage, how exposed they were to serious fines and lawsuits, and how infrequently they took advantage of grants and subsidies that were set up to help them.

That’s when we started to beef up the HR side of our business, and we shifted from being a “better benefits” company to something else entirely. We became Canada’s first Employee Investment Optimization firm.

When we became eclipse EIO, we broadened our mission. We’re no longer focused on “cutting employee costs.” Now we want to ensure that every small business in Canada remains competitive in today’s changing industries.

We believe so strongly in what we’re doing, that we’re providing the bulk of our services free of charge—without requiring them to make us their benefits provider. Though, to be fair, we’re confident that they’ll like the benefits we offer anyway.

EIO is an evolving science. We plan to continuously look for new ways to help our clients get more out of their investments in their people.

That means saving them more money, further reducing financial liabilities, and uncovering affordable opportunities for them to reinvest in the wellbeing of their employees.
